Samantha showed him where everything was - filters, coffee, cream, sugar
and mugs - then lead him over to the small love seat she'd bought. She
curled up, knees to chest, while the coffee dripped into the carafe in her
small kitchen. Her cheek resting on her knees, she looked over at him. "The
curse was bad enough, but...," she broke off, took a breath. "There was
something else. The way he came at me. It was like a flashback, a horrible
one, and I couldn't move. I just froze and stood there until the next thing
I knew, it was all wretching and pain."
